We keep a database of all client suggestions and incorporate ideas that benefit the majority of our sites. We normally publish two major releases each year, in addition to smaller releases.
On-going research into new technologies and products is an important part of our responsibility, so that we can continue to provide the best possible value to our clients. Some of the projects produced in the past by our research are: adding charts and a dashboard within the Censitrac reporting module, the interface with OR scheduling applications to prioritize the workflow in the Sterile Processing Department, expanding our mobile PDA software to run on a wide variety of devices, and the interface with sterilizers for comprehensive electronic sterilization records. An important technology we are researching for the future is RFID, and the ability to use it to recognize and locate items within the hospital.

Bon Secours Health System | | Jennifer Camacho,RN (Clinical Team Supervisor ) scans a Case Cart to an OR room in St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, VA. One of four area hospitals that all use Censitrac.
Scarlett Mitchell, Administrative Director of Central Sterile Processing for the Bon Secours Health System in Richmond, VA, uses Censitrac to monitor all hospitals from her desk at the ORC (Offsite Reprocessing Center). Bon Secours utilizes the Case Tracking feature in Censitrac to record all surgical instruments used in a specific procedure. Using the Case Tracking Module, Ms.Mitchell notes "I can recall any procedure and know immediately the exact instruments used on that patient. We have had two events recently where this feature has proven invaluable to the hospital."
Ms.Mitchell emphasizes that "patient safety is Bon Secours number one priority and Censitrac makes this easy to accomplish. Records are easily extracted including the Sterilization Data required for Infection Control and the Director of the OR."
